With a deep pride in his Irish heritage, Michael was drawn to the traditional music and rich cultural history of Ireland. Over time, he began to explore the wide range of musical genres influenced by Irish traditions, integrating these sounds into his own artistry.
Alongside his connection to his Irish roots, Michael developed a strong passion for the Spanish language, as well as the music and culture of Mexico. His fascination with Latin American music led him to study Spanish, and as he immersed himself in the genre’s diverse styles, he seamlessly integrated these influences into his artistry. Comfortable in both English and Spanish, Michael showcased his bilingual talent on NBC’s hit show “The Voice” during his Season 5 blind audition, where he had the opportunity to perform alongside Christina Aguilera.
Having spent considerable time living and traveling in both Mexico and Ireland, Michael immersed himself in the music and cultures of these countries, deepening his understanding and appreciation of their diverse sounds. By blending elements of traditional folk music from both Ireland and Mexico with his soulful, dynamic voice, Michael has crafted a unique sound that resonates with listeners across the globe, and his genre-defying approach continues to make an impact in the music world.
For the past eight years, Michael has called Nashville his home, immersing himself in the city’s vibrant musical heritage and blending its country roots into his unique sound. A familiar face on Broadway and across the city, he has sharpened his craft in the very heart of Music City.
