Growing up just outside of Chicago, Darren Jeffers, also known as “Dirty Darren,” developed a deep love for music. Influenced by his mother, he was exposed to a variety of genres, including Motown, country, and rock ballads, as well as the sounds of Chicago house and hip-hop on the radio. This early musical exposure inspired Darren to pursue a career in DJing at just 13 years old.
During his teenage years, Darren honed his skills by DJing at local school dances and weddings, mastering the art of reading a crowd and keeping the energy alive on the dance floor. As he grew older, Darren became a prominent figure in Chicago’s nightlife scene, performing at top venues such as Tao, Prysm, Tunnel, Bottled Blonde, El Hefe, and RocBar. Known as an open-format DJ, he delivered eclectic and electrifying sets throughout the city, from tourist-filled Wrigleyville to trendy River North. He even provided the official pregame entertainment for the Chicago Bulls for five seasons in the Near West Side neighborhood.
Expanding his reach, Darren began taking gigs in other cities, including New York City, Miami, Boston, Scottsdale, Milwaukee, Anaheim, and Cleveland. In 2021, Darren relocated to Nashville, where he seized exciting opportunities, including DJing for the CBS special New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash 2022, which was watched by 5.2 million viewers. Since then, he has performed at official after-parties for artists like Bad Bunny, 50 Cent, and the Backstreet Boys.
Additionally, Darren has ventured into music production, teaming up with DJ Rod Youree to form the duo BRDWY Music, focusing on creating edits and remixes of country songs tailored for high-energy sets. These edits have been widely downloaded and played by DJs across the United States and Canada.
Darren’s passion for music and his ability to adapt to any audience have made him one of the most sought-after DJs in the country. He continues to push the boundaries of music and art, delivering consistently dynamic and energetic performances that keep dance floors alive.
